That is what the Official site of Johnny Depp's production company "Infinitum Nihil reads.
It is a quote from Leo Tolstoy's "Confession":

"I asked: "What is the meaning of my life, beyond time, cause, and space?" And I replied to quite another question: "What is the meaning of my life within time, cause, and space?" With the result that, after long efforts of thought, the answer I reached was: "None." In my reasonings I constantly compared (nor could I do otherwise) the finite with the finite, and the infinite with the infinite; but for that reason I reached the inevitable result: force is force, matter is matter, will is will, the infinite is the infinite, nothing is nothing — and that was all that could result"

 

Johnny seems to keep his production company a bit away from the spotlight. He doesn't talk very much about it in interviews. But it's not a secret. News about productions, and new purchases of film rights for books comes in regularly.

Infinitum Nihil was founded in 2004. Director is Johnny's sister (and personal manager) Christie Dembrowski. Johnny's friend Sam Sarkar (producer of Caliber) writer, is Development Director. The company has a three year contract with Graham King's Initial Entertainment Group.

The first film that will be produced by Infinitum Nihil is Shantaram, after the book with the same name of Gregory David Roberts. Director is Mira Nair ("The Namesake"). Initially the film was meant to be released in 2008; but the writer's strike of 2007/2008 caused considerable delay.

		IN THE HAND OF DANTE Johnny Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil has acquired screen rights to the Nick Tosches novel In the Hand of Dante. The novel is being developed as a potential star vehicle for Depp, report the trades. The book revolves around Dante's masterwork The Divine Comedy, and tells parallel storylines involving Dante in 14th-century Italy as he tries to complete the work, and a contemporary storyline involving Tosches, who is asked to authenticate what might be Dante's original manuscript. Depp would play Tosches. Depp will produce with his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski. The company, which has a first-look deal with Warner Bros. and Graham King's Gk Films, optioned the book, which was published in 2002, with its own money.
